12th Annual Black Panther Party Film Festival

Presented by the NY Black Panther Party Commemoration Committee

This year’s theme is Pt. 7 of the Panther Platform:

WE WANT AN IMMEDIATE END TO POLICE BRUTALITY AND MURDER OF BLACK PEOPLE, OTHER PEOPLE OF COLOR, And All OPPRESSED PEOPLE INSIDE THE UNITED STATES. 

Films are available on a sliding scale at $12 for general admission, $8 for students & senior & $4 for unemployed or underemployed. Proceeds go directly to supporting the Black Panther Party & Maysles Cinema. Additional donations can be made  for commissary for BPP Political Prisoners and aid to their families when needed.

Two virtual panel discussions will occur on October 10th & 15th as part of the festival. The October 15th panel is now available for free! Register today.

On Saturday, October 10th at 3pm an intergenerational panel moderated by King Downing (activist, lawyer & BPC member) with Aaron Dixon (co-founder of Seattle BPP chapter, subject of My People Are Rising), Ksisay Sadiki (Panther Cob, Artivist & daughter of a political prisoner) , Robert King (freed political prisoner & subject of Cruel & Unusual), Valerie Haynes (Northeast Political Prisoner Coalition), Hawk Newsome (Black Lives Matter NY)  

On Wednesday, October 15th at 6pm, a panel with Professor Sandy Shevack (William Patterson College) and Carlito Rovira (Revolutionary artist, Young Lords Party) moderated by King Downing (Activist Lawyer & Member of BPC Committee NY). Additional panelists TBA.
