Synthetic Pleasures is an exhilarating and disturbing exploration into the ways that human beings are using technology, from body piercing to bionics, to transform our environments, bodies and minds in search of pleasure that raises issues nobody today can afford to abort / retry / ignore.
Filmmaker & activist lara Lee presents a selection of her work from 1995 until today. Lee’s films have sought to explore and make central to her work both stories of resistance and artistic exploration which take place around the world through a variety of feature length and short films she has directed over the last 25 years.
