House Manager

Maysles Documentary Center seeks a part-time House Manager and on-site coordinator to welcome special guests and the public to the cinema and oversee their safety and well-being before, during, and immediately after the show. This is a quick and highly-active shift with lots of action packed into a short amount of time. The House Manager is responsible for opening the space, handling Box Office walk-up and concessions sales, checking in guests, updating the marquee, and cleaning the space again at the end of the show. They are also responsible for keeping the show’s on-time, introducing & welcoming guests to MDC before the screening, and ensuring all guests are taken care of as well as resolving any issues that arise with guests of the cinema. Must be available to work Thursday nights and weekends. As On-Site Coordinator you are responsible for opening and closing the space for private events and coordinating with the event manager that their needs are met and their event stay on-time. 

Experience with customer service is mandatory, box office experience and living locally (in Harlem) is a plus. 

$25/hr for regular screenings (typically shifts are about 3-5 hrs, though private events are generally longer)
