The Cinema Programming internship includes 4 areas of focus which can be individually tailored to the intern candidate’s skill set and areas of interest.
Outreach Internship
Assisting in the development and execution of various outreach materials, soup to nuts, which will involve being able to transition between more formalized press outreach and more informal audience and social media driven outreach, as well as flyer-driven neighborhood outreach out in the field.
Requires interest in exploring the city and doing internet based research, identifying and engaging with niche communities and subcultures and communicating our core vision to people in order to build our audience.
Video Production Internship
Assisting in the creation of trailers for upcoming series and films to run before screenings and to be posted online, as well as shooting and editing videos of post-screening discussions and performances for web distribution as well as our archives.
Requires experience with Adobe Premiere and/or Final Cut Pro.
Programming Internship
Responsibilities include research and administrative tasks in support of the development of the Maysles Cinema documentary-based programming.
Requires a passionate interest in documentary films and documentary film exhibition.

• Cover letter in the form of a personal statement of no more than 500 words, explaining why you would like to take part in the internship program and letting us know something about yourself your interests, concerns, ideas.
• Your resume – include a list of relevant skill sets (particularly computer programs; please be honest about your degree of proficiency).
• Optional – a link to or DVD reel of your own work in film or a project you contributed to. Limit to 5 minutes.
