Artist/scholar/curator Ayanna Dozier (Ph.D.) appears in person to present two of her favorite documentaries as part of our ongoing ‘Under the Influence’ series, on February 17 #IntheCinema at 7:30PM. These films will also be available in our #VirtualCinema on February 18.
Ayanna Dozier is a writer, lecturer, filmmaker, and performance artist. She recently received her Ph.D. from the Department of Art History and Communication Studies at McGill University. She is the author of Janet Jackson’s The Velvet Rope (2020) and was a 2018–19 Helena Rubinstein Fellow in Critical Studies at the Whitney Independent Studies Program. She is currently a Joan Tisch Teaching Fellow at the Whitney Museum and a lecturer in the Department of Communication and Media Studies at Fordham University.
