American Hunger (Ephraim Asili, 2013, 19 min.)
La Tercera Raiz (The Third Root) (Miatta Kawinzi, 2015, 9 min.)
Excerpts of Ars Jus Pax (Art, Justice, Peace) (2019, 30 min.)
This edition of Studio Screen brings together three films to investigate migration, displacement, and hyphenated identities: American Hunger by Ephraim Asili, La Tercera Raiz (The Third Root) by Miatta Kawinzi, and an excerpt of Ars Jus Pax (Art, Justice, Peace) by The Studio Museum’s exhibiting artist Dozie Kanu.
A post-screening discussion will feature artists Ephraim Asili and Miatta Kawinzi in conversation with Studio Museum/MoMA Fellow Ravon Ruffin. Reception to follow.
This program is organized on the occasion of Dozie Kanu: Function. Dozie Kanu: Function is on view until March 15, 2020 at Studio Museum 127, 429 West 127th Street.
This is a free event.
