La Película Infinita (The Endless Film)
Leandro Listorti, 2018, 54 min.
Leandro Listorti’s La Película Infinita is a cinematic mashup of never-finished Argentine film footage. Listorti assembles the celluloid remains of films such as Nicolás Sarquís’s 1984 Zama adaptation (attempted almost 35 years before Lucrecia Martel) to present an alternate film history--one that insists on collective memories and stories with no end. What results is a resurrection of sound and images, a meditation on chemical decay, film preservation, and the storytelling possibilities of unseen images.
