We will celebrate what would have been the 94th birthday of famed author Toni Morrison. THE PIECES I AM is a deeply meditative look at the life of Toni Morrison, editor, author and artist who reached deeply into the cosmos of African American history to produce some of the world's greatest literature.

From her upbringing in Lorain, Ohio to the frontlines with activists like Angela Davis, this elegant documentary reveals Morrison's work as an ongoing allegory on race, class and gender in American history. 

Post-screening discussion: As part of the post-screening discussion we are encouraging a community conversation on the topic of "Creativity in the Midst of Chaos" and asking audience members how they see arts and activism in the current period.
