Félicité, a proud, free-willed woman scrapes together a living singing at a makeshift bar (her backing band is played by the legendary Kasai All-Stars). When Félicité’s 14 year-old son is seriously injured in a motorcycle accident, her world is sent into a tailspin, and she launches on a desperate search for money to pay the hospital. Her pursuit takes her through some of the roughest neighborhoods in Kinshasa and puts her at odds with various characters from her past, setting into motion a parallel journey into the inner world of her own soul.
