On Saturday, December 12th at 10am EDT join a panel discussion with filmmakers Laurence Attali & Eric Piccoli moderated by Boukary Sawadogo.
Dr. Boukary Sawadogo is professor of cinema studies in the Department of Media and Communication Arts at the City College of New York - City University of New York.
Dr. Sawadogo is the author of numerous publications on African cinema, including three books, book chapters, articles, and film reviews.
Laurence ATTALI studied philosophy and cinema at Paris Sorbonne and theatre at Vincennes, before becoming an editor. She edited several features and documentaries before moving to directing in 1992. She made her first documentary, Mourtala Diop voyageur de l'art in Senegal.
Eric Piccoli is a director, screenwriter and producer known for the fiction series Temps mort, Projet-M and Public Writer. On the documentary side, he stood out by directing the films Yes (co-directed with Félix Rose) and Illegal Cannabis and the series The last felquiste (a co-production with Flavie Payette-Renouf and Félix Rose) on the mysterious death of Mario Bachand, a member of the FLQ.
On Saturday, December 12th at 11am EDT join a panel discussion with filmmakers Steve Fotso, Hervé Demers & Alexa Carrenard, moderated by Boukary Sawadogo.
Steve Fotso, is an editor who has been working in audiovisual for few years. His project ‘Restes d’une frontières’ is interested in an original form of conflicts resolution that took place between Bandjoun an Bayam to stop a stalemate that became a war that no one could win.
Hervé Demers is a filmmaker and a photographer. His award-winning films were selected by over a hundred international competitions and festivals, including Hot Docs and Clermont-Ferrand. Retrospectives of his body of work were presented in Morocco, Ukraine and South Korea. He was a jury of numerous film festivals, including the Busan International Short Film Festival. His commercial work is represented by L’ÉLOI.
