Short Films by Apichatpong Weerasethakul. Screening in the Cinema Thursday October 7, 14, 21, and 28.
Maysles Documentary Center presents Short Films by Apichatpong Weerasethakul, a series of four distinct collections (Programs 1-4) organized by the filmmaker, featuring work made between 1997 and 2020.
Weerasethakul won the top prize at Cannes in 2010 for Uncle Bonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives and premiered his latest feature, Memoria, to universal acclaim at the 2021 festival— where he also premiered a new short. Over the course of a still young but extremely prolific career, he has distinguished himself as one of cinema’s all time great artists. This collection testifies to the breadth and evolution of his practice.
